It all started when…

I was no more than 9 years old and saw a political billboard with a poodle, touting the phrase “That dog don’t hunt.” My dad, an avid duck hunter, informed me that poodles were in fact retrievers and that he wanted one someday. The seed was planted.

A bit about me

I grew up in the heart of rice and duck country with well trained duck dogs (Labrador retrievers). My dad a farmer and duck hunter and my mom a reining horse enthusiast, I have a great appreciation for horses, dogs, row crops, and conservation stewardship. I have an AA Agribusiness, BS of Animal Science, and MS Animal Science (Reproductive Physiology). I am enthralled with new life and watching young develop and learn.

My poodle adventures started with Claire. Claire came home to the farm in 2015. My family and I fell in love with her. Claire was the super star at obedience; very smart and wanted to please. She absolutely loved to run. My father has hunting labs and NOBODY on the farm could keep up. I wanted another poodle, and Claire needing a running buddy was a great excuse to bring home Louise. The girls are a great source entertainment, comfort, and joy. My girls love to help me cook, run the fields, swim in the reservoirs, investigate the barn, and road trip to pick up parts. My mom has Parkinson’s, and so many times I find them giving her hugs.

My goal is to produce dogs that are great companion and service dogs. To do that, the dog must be conformationally and mentally sound, healthy, have good disposition, and have a personality that fits its family. Because I like pretty things, they must also be pretty, although; pretty is an added bonus.

RAISING PUPPIES:

I raise happy, healthy puppies that are trained to quickly adapt to their new family environments. My girls raise their litters in my house. They typically give birth in the living room or my bedroom in a swimming pool. Puppy habitat changes as they grow. I have a room dedicated to my dogs and puppies. Puppies are biosensor handled, socialize with a wide range of environment, people, and animals (after shots), and introduced to various rooms of the house and outside (individually and as a group). Puppies are wormed every two weeks, starting at two weeks. Tails and dewclaws docked. Puppies have one if not two vaccinations prior to going home, along with a vet check and health certification if needed. Parents have been genetic health tested through Paw Print Genetics.
